WRVS Heritage Plus runs a wide range of free activities and workshops for people to share their memories, knowledge, life experiences, cultures and traditions. Our workshops usually take place once a week over a period of five to ten weeks and involve a range of activities including reminiscence, local history, creative writing, art and drama.

Activities take place throughout the Brighton, Hove and Portslade areas and we can often help with transport arrangements for those who would like to attend but have difficulty with this. As well as the workshops we run, we also arrange outings and special events for our participants. More details of these can be found in the Activities section of our website.

Heritage Plus is also looking for volunteers who would like to be involved in this wonderful opportunity to record people's individual and community histories. Volunteering opportunities include recording oral history interviews, facilitating reminiscence groups using creative processes such as creative writing, art or drama with older people, administration, help with refreshments / meet & greet and website editing. Training is provided for these various roles and expenses are paid.

If you would like to find out more or take part in any of the activities we are running, or you would like to volunteer with us, please call or email Nicola Benge, the Heritage Plus co-ordinator for Portslade on:
