These photographs were taken at a workshop organised by WRVS Heritage Plus in Portslade for people wanting to research their family history.
Over the course of ten weeks between April and June 2010, participants met with trainer and researcher Stuart Cameron Waller to learn all about Genealogy and how to trace their family tree.
Along with Stuart, the group who met weekly at Hangleton library, were assisted by WRVS volunteers Imogen Lycett-Green and Margaret Chapman.
By the end of the course all the participants had drawn their own family tree and learned a great deal about research methods for family history.
Some quotes from participants:
It was wonderful having the help to research the family tree and access to websites not available at home.'
I liked everything. I really enjoyed myself and now have a new interest.'
'Enabled me to understand the methods of research and sites that can be used. The volunteer support was very good.'
'The help from Stuart Cameron Waller was very good in helping to trace my family tree.'
