Memories from Loan Box Reminiscence Sessions

This collage was created by Monica Birchall, a volunteer for WRVS Heritage Plus on a placement from the Life History MA course at Sussex University . As a volunteer for the project Monica hosted a number of reminiscence sessions at Palm Court Nursing Home in Eastbourne .

Each week Monica took in a themed loan box created by the Heritage Plus project to the nursing home to show to residents and used it as a basis for the reminiscence session. Each loan box covered different themes such as the Homefront, Make Do and Mend and an Evening Out and everyone who attended the sessions found them to be very interesting and stimulating in provoking people’s memories.
