WRVS Heritage Plus Dance Workshop in Eastbourne

Followed by an Intergenerational Tea Dance
By Domenico Trillo

The pictures below show a five week 1940's dance workshop organised by WRVS Heritage Plus in Eastbourne in November 2009, followed by a Tea Dance at St Richards Church in Langney, which was also attended by children from Langney School.

Over the course of five weeks dance instructor Dave Romaine coached participants in a variety of dances including the stroll, the charleston, the jive and the Tennessee Wigwalk. At the end of the workshop, everyone attended an intergenerational 1940's Tea Dance organised by Heritage Plus, where they joined with local schoolchildren, who were dressed as evacuees and had also been learning the dances.
