The Weavers visit to Elizabeth Court
Wednesday 16th December 2009

On a cold winter's morning with the threat of snow in prospect, The Weavers set off from WRVS Crawley for Hove , East Sussex . The aim was to perform for residents at Elizabeth Court in Hove . The Weavers had been rehearsing for several months beforehand and already had a show lined up.
The first half of the show included a dozen or so numbers from 'The Roaring 20's' and was to be followed by an interlude from Marcel Lascaux before the group continued with some seasonal favourites just in time for Christmas.
Christmas Alphabet was followed by Santa Claus is Coming to Town, Mary's Boy Child and White Christmas. The show was completed with a beautiful rendition of Silent Night from Wyn Ive.
The audience and performers alike appeared to thoroughly enjoy themselves by the time the show ended and everyone was treated to tea and cake.
The trip back to Crawley was perfectly completed with the sight of snowflakes falling in the twilight and The Weavers rounding off the day with a few more favourite songs.
