Nancy : This is the Valentines card that Wally sent me before we started seeing each other - I was actually seeing someone else at the time.

We got engaged when we were very young, I was 16 and Wally was 19 years old, as he was going to be going abroad with the army. Before he left, he cut a sixpence in half and gave me one half to keep and he kept the other half. We've still got both the halves.

Wally: I knew that she might meet someone else while I was away, I realised that she was very young.

Nancy and Wally also brought along their wedding invitation, a wedding picture, and the card that Wally gave Nancy for their wedding - with the lovely words he'd written inside.
