This 10 week workshop was facilitated by Stuart Cameron-Waller, a local genealogist in Peacehaven. The workshop taught the participants the basics of family history research.  Each week the group would use the computers in Peacehaven Library to search websites such as Ancestry and free BMD to trace their family trees. The group also had a trip to the East Sussex Records Office in Lewes, which explained the process of using the records office and what information is stored at the archive. The group also had the opportunity to use the microfiche, internet and look a local maps.

The workshop was well received and fully booked. One participant said that the course helped her with 'meeting new people who are interested in the same subject. It has helped me in getting in contact with family members who have knowledge of past family. I now have become curious, and in two weeks I am going to Deptford/Bermonsey to see where my Grandparents actually lived, and visit other family members. The course is 'excellent' and Stuart is very helpful at solving problems and giving ideas where to go now.'

The workshop also proved to be quite frustrating for participants when they got stuck, but also provided a huge sense of elation when they found a family member.
