Tea dancing at Windmill Theatre

On January 25th, participants from Portslade WRVS Heritage Plus reminiscence sessions enjoyed an outing to the Windmill Theatre at Blatchington Mill School, Hove for a fabulous tea dance organised by Blatchington Mill School and the Ragroof Theatre Company. 17 of us went along to listen to old time music deejayed by Champagne Charlie and to watch dances by the Ragroof Theatre group before trying out the odd Foxtrot and Waltz ourselves. Everyone danced at least once, and enjoyed every minute of it.

More tea vicar!

We followed this up with a tea and cake break to wet our whistles and rest our feet, brought to us by a genuine 'Nippy' (see photo) before getting back on the dance floor for more! he group had a great time and can't wait until the next tea dance.

Acknowledgements

Thanks to the Windmill Theatre and Cicely Taylor, the Community Arts Manager at Blatchington Mill School for giving us free tickets to come along to the event and also to Ragroof Theatre Company for making the event such an enjoyable one.
