The aim of this creative course was to enable members of the Newhaven Age Concern Day Club to explore a 'happy memory' or a significant period of time from their personal history.
Memories were explored through visual and written references with images taken from personal archives and the internet.
The resulting canvases were achieved by making a collage onto an existing box canvas and sealing with varnish to protect the delicate surface.
Each canvas is a highly personal response to the brief and demonstrates the skill and determination of the maker to show others a 'snap shot' of their life.
This workshop was organised by WRVS Heritage Plus in Newhaven and the course facilitator was Paula Leighton.
