This was the first 10 week workshop to be run by WRVS Heritage Plus in Newhaven between March and May 2007. The workshop was run by Sophie Mahir, a well known local artist.

Over the first three weeks of the workshop, participants talked about their memories and experiences of Newhaven Port.  They then produced sketches based on these memories and in the last weeks of the workshop produced their final paintings.

The paintings were exhibited at Newhaven Fort in July 2007 and have been shown at other local events including the Newhaven Fish Festival.

To see the finished paintings please see the page about them in our Products section here.
