A trip back in time

An outing to the South Downs Heritage Centre
By Nicola Benge

Elizabeth Court Sheltered Home outing to South Downs Heritage Centre

This outing was part of the reminiscence sessions which Portslade WRVS have been running at this sheltered home every Wednesday in Hove, with a volunteer facilitator. We took some of the residents to the South Downs heritage and garden centre in Hassocks to look over things like the Volks electric railway, bygone shops, old trades and skills and historical gardens.

We all really enjoyed the day and would recommend it. It is free entry to the museum and there is a cafe and garden centre to look round afterwards.
