Oral History Workshop
A 10 week activity held in autumn 2007 which taught participants how to do oral history interviews.
By M Ashley
This Oral History activity was facilitated by Esther Gill , an Oral History trainer, at the Peacehaven Library in Autumn 2007. The activity taught the particpants how to get interviewees to share their memories of why they moved to Peacehaven. They were also shown how to use the recording equipment (marantz recorders) and what type of questions (open ended) should be asked.
The particpants practised interviewing each other, which they found was great fun. They then interviewed some people who attend Age Concern, Peacehaven about their experiences of moving to Peacehaven.
