Ken Ridley reflects on the day

This is just a note to say how much we enjoyed the outing on Friday 25th April.

The visit to the Theatre Royal was nostalgic enough as we used to visit it, via the outer access up the stairs (a bit like a light-house) to the separate box office, to pay for the cheaper seats. Then to try and sit where the support pillars did not interfere with the view of the stage way down below.

Then, the great weather on the day allowed us to relax before being treated to the Italian meal at Pinocchios: magnifico!

Show time next ..such a professional performance. You could tell when we all joined in with the songs how everybody was thoroughly enjoying it. I think we had a 'lucky break'.

Not forgetting the transport arrangements and the friendly drivers. It all added up to a day never to be forgotten.

We are sure we speak for all who were able to come in saying thank you to all those who made it such a pleasant occasion.

Ken and Rosina: It was lovely, smashing. I felt free to wander on my own and do my own thing. It was really interesting and a good day out.

Dolly: I thought it was very interesting. Tea in the Pavillion Gardens was so relaxing as it was a beautiful day. Good meal and WRVS Portslade put on a very nice 'do' for us with food drink and entertainment.

Gillian: I thoroughly enjoyed it and found it very very interesting. A well planned day. We had a good laugh at the restaurant, and received a great welcome at WRVS Portslade centre too.

Sylvia: The theatre tour was exceptional - very good indeed, but I didn't see the ghost!

Ron: I thought it was an absolutely wonderful day, we were so well looked after. I especially enjoyed sitting in the Royal box.
