Make Do and Mend Sessions

Photos from the 10 week make do and mend activity sessions held in Winter 2007/2008

By Kirsty Henshall

The Make Do and Mend activity session was facilitated by Peter Grech. He used household objects and toys as memory aids and participants brought in their own photographs from World War II and the 1950s.

Peter took notes of the many tips discussed in the sessions and  these were then used to produce a calendar for the Heritage Plus project.

Our thanks to Peter, a volunteer, for facilitating the 10 week activity.

Fantastic! As an Education Officer, I'd be very interested to find out where your 'make do and mend' items came from. Eg. the tin can sculpture!

The tin can sculpture belonged to one of the participants on activity.
