This beautiful wall hanging was created in five weeks with Crawley WRVS Heritage Plus participants in spring and summer 2007. The photos come from their personal collections, they were transferred to a cloth backing, and then fabric in the shape of a tree was quilted onto the cloth to form the body of the wall hanging. Some of the participants then embroidered words and flowers onto the tree.
Who?
Everyone took part, even the men! it was a lovely project and heartwarming to see so many people taking part and mucking in together, sewing and singing over the weeks in the spring.
Where is it?
The hanging is now displayed in the foyer of Crawley WRVS as well as being taken to exhibitions for the enjoyment of all.
