Tattoos to tea cakes!

An outing to Brighton Museum to look at clothing. Talking about fashion over the decades
By Helen Rowsell
Tattoos and teacakes!

These photos are from an outing organised by Brighton Museum and WRVS Heritage Plus Portslade, to Brighton museum, to look at clothing and adornments over the ages. Participants from Portslade WRVS and Tarner Impact Initiatives came along to meet a museum curator, and be shown around the museum.

Clothing classes

We had a fascinating talk about tattoos and piercings before being taken down into the education room to look at clothes from the museum's collection over the last 100 years. We were only allowed to touch the clothes wearing white gloves, which made us feel quite professional!

It was a fascinating excursion and ended with a lovely tea at the Royal Pavillion.

Thanks

Thanks again to Brighton Museum for allowing us to explore the delights of their collections.
