Marion's memories

In 1960 I stated my SEN training, it took me three and a half years to pass. It was hard - frightening learning how to take blood, I was shaking how would I know what to do? Running to attend a cardiac arrest, awful !
All the kids were at home as well. I ended up at Hove General in the operating theatre, the night work nearly killed me.
Half of Whitehawk used to come to me for help - getting wounds dressed, looking at their kids. I used to get sick of it. I'd say, "Go to the hospital".
We stood to attention when the matron came round, it's so slapdash now."
