The view from Portslade WRVS

From Army Camp to Allotments!
By Kirsty Henshall

This is a view of the allotments from the Portslade WRVS Centre on Windlesham Close in Portslade. These beautifully attended allotments were once Army barracks during Napoleonic times, and even during World War I apparently. It is said that during the Second World War a bomber plane crash landed on the allotments and was buried there.... Let's hope nothing unexploded remains!
